Tornquist Alexander

(born 1868 in Hamburg, Germany - die d. 1944) - German geologist and paleontologist. He studied humani ties and natural sciences at the University of Goettingen, in 189 2 earned a doctorate in philosophy. Ran from 1893 as assistant pr ofessor of paleontology lectures at the University of Strasbourg, in 1900 he became professor of paleontology at Strasbourg, from 1907 at the University of Königsberg. At the beginning of the twentieth century, made by Lawrence confirmed Teisseyre in the 1893 discovery of deep divisions crossing zones of Europe, called from that time zone Teisseyre s-Tornquist.
